MEET THE STAFF/TEACHERS
At Crossing Borders International Preschool in Houston, one of our highest priorities is ensuring that our teachers and staff are exceptional. We have a Human Resources Manager who holds a SHRM-CP certification to ensure that we hire the very best. We interview each person as if they will be teaching our own children and, in some cases, they will be! We go beyond the basic state requirements and look for individuals who embody and support our core values.

Founder & Owner
Elvia Taylor
CEO and Founder
Elvia Taylor is the CEO and founder of Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. In 2001, she started offering English and Spanish classes and, because of her love for children, Elvia implemented a language preschool for kids in 2006. Initially, the preschool only offered Spanish, but it has grown to offer Spanish, English, Mandarin, and French. Elvia is committed to quality education and believes in the importance of multilingual children in today’s global community.

Zeina
Director
Zeina is the Director for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is trilingual in English, French, and Arabic. She earned her master’s degree in Research in Educational Sciences from the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. She started working for Crossing Borders International Preschool on August 2014 as the French teacher and was promoted to Director in August of 2015. During her 10 years as an educator, Zeina has taught French, math, and science. Zeina believes deeply in the importance of foreign language learning. Her main objective is ensuring every child successfully learns to speak their new language while enjoying a safe and nurturing environment.
Carmen
Academic Specialist
Carmen is the Operations Support Specialist for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Carmen started working for Crossing Borders International Preschool in 2012 and was promoted to Operations Support Specialist in June of 2015. She believes that learning a foreign language at an early age is an essential part of a child’s education and development. Her goal is to prepare Crossing Borders’ children to successfully live and work in a globalized world.
Sol
Assistant Director
Sol is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a diploma in Business Office Technology and is also a certified Medical Assistant. She joined our team in June 2018 as a teacher assistant for the summer camp classes, and in the fall transitioned to assist in the 18-month-old classroom. Later, she was promoted to Assistant Director. She enjoys getting to know the children and learning what it means to help them by providing support, leadership, and care. Her goal is to continue to excel as a professional to assist in ensuring the children at Crossing Borders International Preschool the best possible learning experiences that will help them develop and get ready not only for kindergarten, but for life.
Gidy
Customer Service/Enrollment & Social Media Specialist
Gidelys “Gidy” is the Customer Service/Enrollment & Social Media Specialist for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish from Sam Houston State University. She believes in the importance of learning a second or third language. Being bilingual herself, she has seen the opportunities that are given to bilingual people.
Samara
Training & Development Specialist
Samara has been working for Crossing Borders since 2018. She has been a Spanish Teacher for our toddler and preschool classrooms, has lead our online classes during the pandemic and is now mentoring our toddler and preschool teachers and assistants in Crossing Borders method. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. In 2017, she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the Professor Serafin Peña University in Nuevo León, Mexico. She loves to teach. She is enjoying leading women to become better educators and working with children is her passion.
Rick
School Support
Mr. Rick has been working for Crossing Borders International Preschool for 15 years. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. Mr. Rick always helps with any IT issues plus he monitors playground equipment and building maintenance to make sure that our kids are safe while they are enjoying their time outside. Mr. Rick is very well known throughout the school with our kiddos and they love him. For Rick, it is a good day when the children are learning a new language in a safe and fun environment.

Leslie is a Spanish teacher at Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is pursuing her Child Development Associate. Leslie appreciates the relationship that is built with every student. She loves to play and dance with her students and being a part of their daily learning.

Gaby is a Spanish teacher at Crossing Borders International Preschool. She enjoys working with kids and getting to work with them through didactic, creative work, and play in an educational environment. Her goal is to see her students grow and be successful in this world.
Noemi
Spanish Teacher
Noemi is a Spanish Teacher and she has been with Crossing Borders for 3 years. Noemi is Bilingual in English, and Spanish and has obtained a Child Development Associate certificate. She loves children and believes that with patience, love, and teamwork every child can grow and become the best they can be. Noemi is looking forward to becoming a part of the growth and development of every child she meets.

Spanish Teacher
Nathalia is a Spanish teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. It is her goal to make sure that each child feels loved and cared for, which helps their social and emotional growth. She feels that it is a gift to her to help them explore the world around them. Nathalia looks forward to working with your children and getting to have some fun with them.

Samantha is a Spanish teacher for the 2 year old Spanish class. She has been with Crossing Borders for 3 years and is bilingual, speaking Spanish and English fluently. She is currently a junior working towards her communication degree with a minor in Spanish to English translation at the University of Houston. She hopes to pursue a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology. She is passionate about children’s education and helping them reach their fullest potential.

Spanish Teacher
Ms. Flor is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is a graduate and licensed teacher of science with all studies completed, and also a criminal justice lawyer from El Salvador Juridicas. She has 23 years of experience and loves to be a part of the growth and development of each child. Ms. Flor enjoys and learns every day from each of her students and that is what inspires her to be better every day and to teach in a way that is easy for them to learn.
Cristiana
Spanish Teacher
Cristiana is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a Child Development Associate accreditation through Montgomery College of Maryland and a certification Multiple Intelligence in Early Childhood. Cristi joined Crossing Borders in September 2016. She loves how children use their imagination to transform their environment. Her passion for teaching pushes her to always find a way to show them that they can be smart in many areas.

Spanish Teacher
Liliana is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at California State University in Fresno. She is currently working toward her Texas teaching certification. Liliana has been a member of our team since July, 2015. She considers the field of education to be a significant part of her life. She loves teaching and sharing her knowledge of the Spanish language and culture with her students.

Spanish Teacher
Maria Sandra is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She has a master’s degree in Administration of Educational Institutions from the Instituto Tecnoldgico de Monterrey, Morelia campus. She also has a Bachelor’s degree as a Public Accountant with a specialization in taxes and is a researcher in social and educational areas. In the course of her professional development; teaching has represented her vocation for 20 years; being a teacher represents her passion in doing what she loves most.

English Teacher
Danielle graduated from college with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Child Family Development. For the past nine years, she has pursued her passion of working with children in preschools where she developed a teaching style that allows each student to learn at his/her own pace. She is eagerly looking forward to teaching English and to enriching the lives of the children at Crossing Borders International Preschool in Houston.
Jessica
Mandarin Teacher
Ms. Jessica is the Mandarin Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She holds a bachelor’s degree from James Cook University in Singapore. She has five years of teaching experience, three of which were at a top international preschool and kindergarten in Shanghai, China. Being a teacher and connecting with her students is important to her. Jessica strives to help her students achieve the next milestones in their development with love, kindness, and caring.

French Teacher
Ms. Messad is a French teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is polylingual. She speaks Berber, French, Arabic and English. She earned her bachelor’s degree in speech therapy in July 2009, from university of Ferhat Abbas in Algeria and she has worked with children since 2014. She loves teaching children and believes perseverance is the key to success.

Ms. Crystal is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is fluent in English and Spanish and she earned a bachelor’s degree in Preschool Education from Escuela de Educadoras Laura Arce in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. She loves teaching children and she believes that the patience, perseverance, and enthusiasm a teacher has is significant for children’s learning.
Ms. Ivonne
Spanish Teacher
Ms. Ivonne is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English Language Teaching specializing in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. She has also earned an Early Childhood Teaching Certificate from NYC College of Technology because she really loves teaching and wants to positively impact her students’ lives by fostering the uniqueness and potential of her children with patience and love.

Spanish Teacher
Karla has been working for Crossing Borders International Preschool since July 2019. She is fluent in English and Spanish. She is currently studying to complete her bachelor’s degree in education to help make a difference in children’s lives. She enjoys seeing the children happy and having fun while learning. She believes that teaching is not just a career, but also a passion. Karla wants to be an inspiration to children, and the best recompense to her is their smiles.

Ms. Yesenia is a Spanish teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, and she is a certified MA in the medical field. However, her love for kids and interest in child development is what brought her to our school. She loves being a part in teaching her students the Spanish language. Ms. Yesenia is excited to help her students in the journey of their life and looks forward to a bright year for them.

Emily enjoys working with kids and getting to work with them through didactic, creative work and play in an educational environment.

She obtained a master’s degree in business administration, and a bachelor’s degree in Modern Languages. She loves creating happy childhood memories with her students. At Crossing Borders our teachers recognize the importance of ongoing communication with parents. They have an app for daily communication with parents as well as availability to schedule in-person meetings. I can proudly say, working for Crossing Borders is one of the best experiences in
my life. Freshly arrived in usa CB gave me the opportunity to work with them
