THIS WAS AN OUTSTANDING PRE-SCHOOL FOR OUR 4/5YO DAUGHTER!

This was an OUTSTANDING pre-school for our 4/5yo daughter. We went initially with a plan for Spanish classes but when they they were full, we were offered French or Mandarin (Arabic wasn’t yet available). My daughter chose French and WOW what a great decision. We don’t speak French but as a pediatrician, I know how beneficial learning any second language is in the brain development of a young child, so we hopped on it! Her French class was a peaceful, supportive, and fun learning environment with a great balance of skills and free play. My daughter was so proud as she came home and would teach us the new French words she had learned that day. Each day is composed of a mix of writing practice in a composition book, drawing/crafting, singing songs/dancing, and outdoor play. I was blown away at how far her knowledge and confidence bloomed. There are supplemental classes in aftercare (430pm on) such as soccer, dance, and science if desired. The kids put on a multicultural assembly a few times a year (Mother’s Day was adorable ). Every staff member is kind and great with children- I never saw yelling or punitive behavior. I felt very safe and secure leaving my daughter with the Crossing Borders team each day and I know the experiences she had there have been so invaluable to her future. (We have since moved towns.)

Few extra random questions you may have: it is housed in a church but not religion based- all faiths etc welcome. You can bring lunch+2 snacks each day or opt in to the local healthy catering service they partner with (seemed like reasonable pricing). Tuition was comparable and actually a bit less than Montessori schools in the area. Uniforms required via Lands End- honestly I found this made mornings easy for us, we just bought 2 shirts, 2 bottoms, and a dress and mix and matched each week. The clothes are so durable, no need to go bonkers on supply. There is a fingerprint sign in each day at drop off and pick up, VERY organized. If the language you want isn’t available, seriously consider trying another language and they do offer to move your child over to your preferred language when a spot becomes available- children are so much more flexible than adults and will adapt easily. Incidentally, the parents are awesome- Crossing Borders seems to have attracted a very nice group of parents so we had great luck with bday parties and play dates outside of school. If you are at all on the fence, just call and set up a tour!
