MEET THE STAFF/TEACHERS
At Crossing Borders International Preschool one of our highest priorities is ensuring that our teachers and staff are exceptional. We have a Human Resources Manager who holds a SHRM-CP certification who ensures that we hire the very best. We interview each person as if they will be teaching our own children and, in some cases, they will be. We go beyond the basic state requirements and look for individuals who embody and support our core values.
Founder & Owner
CEO and founder
Elvia Taylor is the CEO and founder of Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. In 2001 she started offering English and Spanish classes and, because of her love for children, Elvia implemented a language preschool for kids in 2006. Initially, the preschool only offered Spanish, but it has grown to offer Spanish, English, Mandarin, French, and soon Arabic. Elvia is committed to quality education and believes in the importance of multilingual children in today’s global community.
Zeina is Director for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is trilingual in English, French, and Arabic. She earned her master’s degree in Research in Educational Sciences from the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. She started working for Crossing Borders International Preschool on August 2014 as the French teacher and was promoted to Director on August 2015. During her 10 years as an educator, Zeina has taught French, math, and science. Zeina believes deeply in the importance of foreign language learning. Her main objective is ensuring every child successfully learns to speak their new language while enjoying a safe and nurturing environment.
Operations Support Specialist
Carmen is the Operations Support Specialist for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Education in San Luis Potosi, Mexico. Carmen started working for Crossing Borders International Preschool in 2012 and was promoted to Operations Support Specialist on June 2015. She believes that learning a foreign language at an early age is an essential part of a child’s education and development. Her goal is to prepare Crossing Borders’ children to successfully live and work in a globalized world.
Sol is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a diploma in Business Office Technology and is also a certified Medical Assistant. She joined our team in June 2018 as a teacher assistant for the summer camp classes, and in the fall transitioned to assist in the 18-month-old classroom. Later, she was promoted to Assistant Director. She enjoys getting to know the children and learning what it means to help them by providing support, leadership, and care. Her goal is to continue to excel as a professional to assist in ensuring the children at Crossing Borders International Preschool the best possible learning experiences that will help them develop and get ready not only for kindergarten but for life.
Jocelyn joined the Crossing Borders International Preschool team on February 2019 as a teacher assistant to the 2.5-year-old Spanish class and was later promoted to our Chaucer House Assistant Director. She is fluent in both English and Spanish. She has received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Houston, Main Campus. Her goal is to encourage a positive learning environment for all the students and make their experience at Crossing Borders Preschool unforgettable.
Customer Service/Enrollment & Social Media Specialist
Gidelys “Gidy” is the Customer Service/Enrollment & Social Media Specialist for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish from Sam Houston State University. She believes in the importance of learning a second or third language. Being bilingual herself, she has seen the opportunities that are given to bilingual people.
Noemi is a Spanish Teacher for the 18-month Spanish class. She is Bilingual in English, and Spanish. She has been working for Crossing Borders International Preschool Since March of 2019 and is currently pursuing a Child Development Associates degree. She loves children and believes that with patience, love and teamwork every child can grow and become the best they can be. She is looking forward to being a part of the growth and development of every child she meets.
Monica is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She studied Clinical Laboratory at Universidad de El Salvador. Monica started working for Crossing Borders as a school aide in 2013 and was promoted to Spanish Teacher for Toddlers in 2016. She loves the opportunity that working with children allows her to be part of their future success.
Debanny is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She has been working for Crossing Borders since March 2018 and is currently pursuing a degree in Child Development. She has been working with children for over four years now and is passionate about teaching children the Spanish language and culture. She believes in working with parents as a team to help their children excel. She is looking forward to being a part of each child’s growth and development.
Rosario is a Spanish teacher for the two-year-old classroom. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She has worked with children for three years now, and she is currently pursuing a degree in Child Development. She has worked for Crossing Borders International Preschool since November of 2018 and is looking forward to working with the parents as a team to give their children an excellent experience with a happy and fun learning environment.
Gladys is an English Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She is currently working towards her Childhood Developmental Associate Credential. Gladys started working for Crossing Borders as a school aide in January 2015 and was promoted to English Teacher in September 2015. Gladys enjoys teaching her students and promotes a loving, caring, and fun environment in her classroom.
Radia is polylingual, speaking French, English, Arabic, and Berber. She earned her master’s degree on December 2017 in finance and banking from University of Mouloud Maameri in Algeria and earned her post-graduation diploma from Maghreb institute in tax and customs. She has worked as substitute teacher in Alliance Françoise in Arizona and has been working for Crossing Borders International Preschool as our French lead teacher. She has a passion for teaching and transmitting her knowledge to her students and she believes attention and patience are key to language success.
Emily is bilingual in English and Mandarin Chinese. She is from China and graduated from Beijing Union University with a bachelor’s degree in literature. She is a certified senior Chinese language teacher that has experience in teaching her native language in her home country. She also has a Certificate in National Proficiency Test of Mandarin level II grade A. Prior to Crossing Borders International Preschool, she taught Chinese at a school in Katy, TX. She enjoys working with children on a daily basis and believes love is the best way to teach children. Every choice of the teach is important to the child’s life. Her mission is to help children build a better future. a career in education.
Danielle graduated from college with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Child Family Development. For the past nine years she has pursued her passion of working with children in Preschools where she developed a teaching style that allows each student to learn at his/her own pace. She is eagerly looking forward to teaching English and to enriching the lives of the children at Crossing Borders International Preschool.
Linda is an English teacher for the 3 year old students at Crossing Borders International Preschool. She has been working with our team since March 2018 as our Substitute Assistant. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She completed her Child Development Associates in September 2019. Her dream to become a teacher comes from loving children and watching them learn.
Liliana is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at California State University in Fresno. She is currently working toward her Texas teaching certification. Liliana started working for Crossing Borders International Preschool in July 2014. She considers the field of education to be part of fulfillment in her life. She loves teaching and sharing her knowledge of the Spanish language and culture with her students.
Cristiana is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a Child Development Associate accreditation through Montgomery College of Maryland and a certification in Multiple Intelligence in Early Childhood. Cristy joined Crossing Borders in September 2016. She loves how children use their imagination to transform their environment from a big space rocket to a huge Pokémon machine. Her passion for teaching pushes her to always find a way to show her students that they can be smart in many areas.
Keira is bilingual in English and Spanish. Keira earned a bachelor’s degree from Universidad Del Valle De México specializing in Pedagogy. She has been a teacher in México for almost 5 years and she believes education is the key to success. She loves children and believes working with parents as a team will help their children achieve all their goals and guide them through their challenges.
Nikaurys “Nikkie” is a Spanish Teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. Nikkie earned a bachelor’s degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education at Lehman College in New York. She is currently on her las semester to finish her Bilingual Education at Houston Baptist University. Nikkie started working for Crossing Borders in August 2016. She believes that each child should be valued and treated with respect. Her personal belief is that education should empower a child to make a great contribution to the world.
Areli is the Kindergarten teacher for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a master’s degree in Education from the University of California-Davis. Areli started working for Crossing Borders International Preschool on March 2019. She believes that education starts at birth and builds upon itself for life. She finds honor in guiding students in their educational success.

We are committed to exceeding expectations. All of our teachers are CPR and First Aid Certified and have a minimum of 48 hours in Child Development, many hold a Child Development Associate Credential TM or hold an under-graduate or graduate degree.

We are committed to providing the best education. Our teachers foster an immersion environment that encourages students to be able to interact in the target language while teaching them core subjects like math, science, arts, as well as teaching them some of the cultural aspects of their own language.
At Crossing Borders our teachers recognize the importance of ongoing communication with parents. They have an app for daily communication with parents as well as availability to schedule in-person meetings. We have staff who have been with us for over 14 years, which is a testament to the consistent, high-quality, caring atmosphere at Crossing Borders. We support our teachers with in-service training throughout the year and an Academic Director to enhance and expand their classroom knowledge.
l started working for Crossing Borders in July 2014, Crossing Borders is dedicated to the care, nurture, education and happiness of all
the students and teachers. Throughout the years working for CB I have gained a lot of knowledge and experience.
Crossing Borders provides teachers with a variety of professional support such as workshops and orientations. I enjoy coming to work every day; share time with my students and coworkers. Everybody at Crossing Borders is nice, polite, professional and we care about each other. It has been an amazing experience working for CB.
