At Crossing Borders International Preschool in Houston, one of our highest priorities is ensuring that our teachers and staff are exceptional. We have a Human Resources Manager who holds a SHRM-CP certification to ensure that we hire the very best. We interview each person as if they will be teaching our own children and, in some cases, they will be! We go beyond the basic state requirements and look for individuals who embody and support our core values.

Elvia Taylor

CEO and Founder

About Me

Elvia Taylor is the CEO and founder of Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. In 2001, she started offering English and Spanish classes and, because of her love for children, Elvia implemented a language preschool for kids in 2006. Initially, the preschool only offered Spanish, but it has grown to offer Spanish, English, Mandarin, and French. Elvia is committed to quality education and believes in the importance of multilingual children in today’s global community.

Zeina

Director

About Me

Zeina is the Director for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is trilingual in English, French, and Arabic. She earned her master’s degree in Research in Educational Sciences from the Saint-Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon. She started working for Crossing Borders International Preschool in August 2014 as the French teacher and was promoted to Director in August of 2015. During her 10 years as an educator, Zeina has taught French, math, and science. Zeina believes deeply in the importance of foreign language learning. Her main objective is ensuring every child successfully learns to speak their new language while enjoying a safe and nurturing environment.

Sol

Assistant Director

About Me

Sol is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a diploma in Business Office Technology and is also a certified Medical Assistant. She joined our team in June 2018 as a teacher assistant for the summer camp classes, and in the fall transitioned to assist in the 18-month-old classroom. Later, she was promoted to Assistant Director. She enjoys getting to know the children and learning what it means to help them by providing support, leadership, and care. Her goal is to continue to excel as a professional to assist in ensuring the children at Crossing Borders International Preschool the best possible learning experiences that will help them develop and get ready not only for kindergarten, but for life.

Cristy

Curriculum and Quality Specialist

About Me

Ms. Cristy is the Curriculum and Quality Specialist at Crossing Borders International Preschool. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she earned her Child Development Associate accreditation through Montgomery College of Maryland and a certification in Multiple Intelligences in Early Childhood. Cristy joined Crossing Borders in September 2016 and loves witnessing how children use their imagination to transform their environment. Her passion for working with children drives her to help each child discover their unique strengths and intelligence in many areas.

Rick

School Support

About Me

Mr. Rick has been working for Crossing Borders International Preschool for 15 years. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. Mr. Rick always helps with any IT issues plus he monitors playground equipment and building maintenance to make sure that our kids are safe while they are enjoying their time outside. Mr. Rick is very well known throughout the school with our kiddos and they love him. For Rick, it is a good day when the children are learning a new language in a safe and fun environment.

Gidy

Customer Service/Enrollment & Social Media Specialist

About Me

Gidy is the Customer Service/Enrollment & Social Media Specialist for Crossing Borders International Preschool. She is bilingual in English and Spanish. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish from Sam Houston State University. She believes in the importance of learning a second or third language. Being bilingual herself, she has seen the opportunities that are given to bilingual people.

At Crossing Borders International Preschool, our teachers recognize the importance of ongoing communication with parents. They have an app for daily communication with parents as well as availability to schedule in-person meetings. Our 25 years in service is a testament to the consistent, high-quality, caring atmosphere at Crossing Borders. We support our teachers with in-service training throughout the year and a Curriculum and Quality Specialist to enhance and expand their classroom knowledge.
